Delaware Division of Libraries is seeking applicants for an AmeriCorps VISTA positions.

The VISTA member makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project. VISTA’s will assist library staff with development of outreach plans; and the development of model programs/services specific to STEM.

STEM Vista

Starts as soon as possible for fall 2017

Provide and assist in development of a strategic plan to enhance the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) resources available through Delaware public libraries. Social Sustainability Resource Coordinator

Starts as soon as possible for fall 2017

Enhance, develop and disseminate information and programming to the underserved communities with an emphasis on social sustainability. The VISTA members will work with library staff and partner organizations to manage the ongoing development of library-based community resources, especially focused on current VISTA programming and the sharing the information of partner programs. A background in social services is preferred.

In return for their service-

AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest living allowance and health benefits during their service, and have the option of receiving a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend after completing their service.

VISTA members generally do not provide direct services, instead, they focus their efforts on building the organizational and administrative capacity to help DDL better serve our communities. VISTAs develop programs to meet a need, write grants, policies and procedures, and recruit and train volunteers.
